What a Weekend: Our 40th Reunion

September 30, 2026  ·  paulaylin@gmail.com

Well, that was worth the wait. Over sixty of us made it back to Dundee for the 40th reunion, and what a weekend it turned out to be.

Saturday was a proper trip down memory lane. The tour of Ninewells was a strange mix of the familiar and the changed: much is different now, though some of us were quietly delighted to learn that the original medical school carpet has finally been removed. The concrete was looking a little greyer than we remembered. Then again, so are our hairlines.

Over at Verdant Works, Lily gave a wonderful talk on how jute made Dundee, entertaining and full of character, and the setting could not have been better. The old mill is a glorious place, all restored machinery and history, and a fitting spot to gather.

But the dinner was the heart of it. Dave piped us in, the drink flowed freely, and the conversation ran long into the night, the sort of easy talk that picks up as though forty years had never passed. The staff at Verdant Works looked after us beautifully from start to finish.

Our thanks to everyone who came, and to all who helped put it together. If you were there, please add your photos to the Reunion 2026 gallery so we can all relive it. And if you haven’t registered on the site yet, come and join us: this is our place to stay in touch now, until the next time.
